The mundane has been transformed into the more visually stimulating.  When I take a photograph, I'm not thinking about what the image is of, but of what the image might become.  I often get quizzical looks from passersby when I'm taking my photos - why is he taking pictures of the hydraulic lines in the helicopter, or of the underside of that old plane, or that pile of rubble?  They are seeing it as it is, while I'm imagining what it will be.
